A Perfect Balance
We spent our whole lives under a spotlight. I mean, what's more exciting than the daughters of a celebrity following in their mother's foot steps? With my mother being Phyllis Rea, former country singer/songwriter, it's only natural that I felt the pull towards the stage, and, when she was old enough to walk, my sister would too. Yet, even though we had all followed the same path, we had never grown so far apart. When I got my first big break, understudying Eponine in a production of Les Miserables, my family was ecstatic for me. & then when the first actress twisted her ankle in practice I was floating on cloud nine. I preformed that night on a real stage, in front of hundreds of ticket-holders. I received bouquets of beautiful flowers and I was showered with compliments, but none of that compared to the standing ovation I received both after On My Own and at curtain call.
