The amazing Sydney Oldroyd posed for me in the digital photography room studio. I experimented many different lighting positions and techniques. There is light shining only on the fabric behind her, shining from directly below her, lighting up only half of her face, coming from the top right, and top left. The models expression and over all mood shown depended on the type of lighting. Unusual lighting (Over-exposed, only behind, and half her face) were paired with playful poses. Lighting that distorted her face was paired with positions that implied a creepy feel to the photographs. I tried to position the camera to catch more extreme lighting. When the lighting was placed below, I photographed from below, and at an angle to catch the distortion of her face. When the light came from the right, I photographed on the left, and vice versa. I mainly stayed close to my model, capturing her from the elbow's up, focusing more on her face and the effects the lighting gave it. My portraits communicate the many different sides of my model. They also show the effects lighting can have on this models face, and how sometimes it can even make her look like a different person.
